A Really Precious Thing

These little chow lair kids became my friends. I've never seen such happy children in my life.

An evening of entertainment compliments of the brat pack.

Notorious Secretive Lives

For three days I did a whole lot of nuttin'. As electricity flowed to the bungalows only from dusk to dawn and internet was hit and miss, I was resigned to be.here now.

The Humble Abode

I took walk to the other side of the island. Took 10 minutes.

There was A Rasta Bar along the way. I could hear Lou Reed's Dirty Boulevard.
It was far from dirty.

Princess Bed protected me from critters.

I never did sit here. Too busy doin' nuttin.

As Fast As Elusive

There is only one speed boat a day that goes to Koh Bolon . Luckily I made it in time for the 1pm trip. We sped along through limestone karsts and turquoise waters. A long tail boat took us ashore, sorta. We actually had to wade in.

An Unexpected Bonus

Pak Bara is the little town where one catches the speedboat to the islands. It is quasi third world and rather charming.

Fish drying. Even the fish are pink in Thailand!

He's pulverizing fish. Is that what's in my tuna sammy?

Hang On For Dear Life

I flew from Bangkok to Hat Yai and took a 1 1/2 hour taxi ride to Pak Bara. The ride was a mix of lush country side and colorful little towns. Every song playing on the radio was apropos. Became lachrymose when Louis Armstrong came on singing" It's a Wonderful World."

Lizard Camp

Have I mentioned I'm the luckiest girl in the world? To have such a wonderful son who so graciously hosts his mom during her visit to Bangkok.
